About Us

Technician (USPS 455-050) is the official student newspaper of NC State University and was first published in 1920. A print edition is published every Thursday throughout the academic year, August through May, except during holidays and exam periods. As a public forum for student expression, students determine the content of the publication without prior review. Opinions expressed in the columns, cartoons and letters that appear on Technician’s Opinion pages are the views of the individual writers and cartoonists. The Technician is one of five outlets that make up NC State Student Media and is governed by the Student Media Board of Directors in accordance with the Student Media Constitution. Subscription cost is $100 per year and can be arranged by contacting the editor at technician-editor@ncsu.edu or by calling the Student Media Business Office at 919-515-2411. A single copy is free to all students, faculty, staff and visitors to campus. Additional copies cost $0.25 each and can be purchased during business hours in room 307 of Witherspoon Student Center. Printed by Triangle Web in Durham, North Carolina.
