NC State volleyball secured its first win of the season with a victory over Wofford on Friday, Sept. 3. Junior setter Kristen McDaniel's 35 assists were a key aspect of the Wolfpack's rather dominant performance, which came on the same night as the celebration of head coach Luka Slabe's for his assistance in leading USA women's volleyball to a gold medal at the 2020 Olympics.

There’s something about racing movies as a genre that makes them emblematic of movies as a whole and of life in general. At their most basic level, races all have beginnings, middles and ends, with participants all competing to be the best. I have found that the best racing movies not only capture what it means to be a champion but also highlight the importance of the journey to get to that satisfying moment and use it as a lesson of the sacrifices necessary to get to the top. With that criteria in place, here’s a look at five movies that best capture the racing genre in its essence. 

Saturday afternoon, the NC State Wolfpack faced off against North Carolina Tar Heels in a prime time matchup between in-state rivals. But the game wasn’t filled with flags for unfair penalties, nor were there any harmful tackles, flamboyant touchdown dances, or aggressive play. Actually, there might’ve been a few nice dance moves thrown on the field. 

What this week lacks in quantity of games, it makes up for in quality with an NCAA Championship first-round game, some men’s basketball and a visit from a team undefeated in ACC play.
