NC State sent seven athletes to the NCAA Track and Field Championships in Austin, Texas, and almost half came back with All-America honors. Junior sprinter Cravont Charleston, senior distance runner Nell Crosby and redshirt freshman distance runner Ian Shanklin all made second-team All-American honors with top-15 finishes in their respective events.

The NC State track and field team wrapped up competition at the NCAA East Preliminary in Jacksonville, Florida this past week with four individual members of the Wolfpack and one relay team qualifying for the NCAA Championships.

The NC State women’s track team placed sixth and the men’s team placed 13th at the ACC Outdoor Championships at Lannigan Field on the campus of the University of Virginia.

Senior Shannon Patterson competes in the 400-meter dash at the Raleigh Relays on March 29, at the Paul Derr Track & Field Facility. Patterson finished fifth in the event with a time of 47.40.

The NC State track and field team will continue its spring outdoor season as it will be competing in Knoxville and Charlotte, April 11-13. The Wolfpack will send student-athletes to the Tennessee Relays and the Charlotte Invitational.
