Kellie Harper's first season as head coach of the women's basketball team will continue into the postseason as N.C. State was selected as the 9-seed in the Kansas City regional Monday night.

The Wolfpack will take the court in Minneapolis against UCLA out of the Pac-10. The Bruins are an 8-seed, and received an at-large bid to the tournament.

While UCLA and N.C. State have a storied past in men's basketball, Harper said she was too young to know much about the series. The Wolfpack men's team ended the Bruins' consecutive run of national championships in 1974.

The Wolfpack Women hold a 5-1 advantage all-time against UCLA and a 2-1 record at neutral sites. The last time the two faced off was in November 1994 in Los Angeles. State won 58-55.

The game is scheduled to tipoff at 9:30 p.m. and will air on ESPN2.
