Tyler Lefebvre Holds Rifle

Tyler Lefebvre, a third-year studying mechanical engineering, prepares to take a shot at his target during the rifle match against No. 20 North Georgia University on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017 at Reynolds Coliseum. The Wolfpack defeated North Georgia with an aggregate score of 4650 to 4575.

The No. 17-ranked NC State rifle team beat Memphis on Saturday 4675-4646. Its total was the second highest in program history, behind a score of 4678 back on Jan. 21, 2018.

The Pack lost to No. 5 Navy 4621-4649 last Saturday. Despite the good showing, and only losing by 28 points, this is its only loss so far.

With 13 career highs and 16 season bests, the Pack was well on its way to this victory. Sophomore Emily Fisher posted 579 in small-bore and 593 in air rifle for third and first of the day, respectively. She also had a perfect score in the prone series in small-bore.

Freshman Aliya Butt finished third with her debut in aggregate with 1170. She scored 577 in small-bore and 593 in air rifle, for fifth and tied for first, respectively.

Freshman Mackenzie Sheffield finished second in small-bore with a personal best of 580. Sheffield, Fisher, Senior Claire Zanti and Butt were all in the top five in this order.

Freshman Addy Burrow got third in air rifle with a score of 593, highlighted by a perfect score in the last two series. This is also her personal best.

The Pack will travel to Morgantown, West Virginia, to take on Akron on Saturday, Nov. 16 and then face West Virginia on Sunday, Nov. 17.
