This Week in Sports: Nov. 21-27

What this week lacks in quantity of games, it makes up for in quality with an NCAA Championship first-round game, some men’s basketball and a visit from a team undefeated in ACC play.

Thursday, Nov. 21

7 p.m. Men’s soccer vs Coastal Carolina (Dail Soccer Field)

Men’s soccer will be hosting the Chanticleers in the first round of the NCAA Championship on Thursday. The two are closely matched, and it should be a fantastic 90-minute battle. With one of the best atmospheres in the country, games — especially in the postseason — are always a blast at Dail Soccer Field.

Saturday, Nov. 23

1 p.m. Men’s basketball vs. Little Rock (PNC Arena)

Riding high on back-to-back wins in Reynolds Coliseum, the men’s basketball team will return to PNC Arena for the final home game of the Barclays Center Classic before heading up to the Big Apple to play Memphis in Brooklyn, New York. With the prospect of grabbing a fifth win in a row, the Wolfpack will be going all out in what should be a fun game.

2 p.m. Special Olympics Unified Sports flag football vs. UNC-Chapel Hill (Close-King Indoor Practice Facility)

Special Olympics athletes from Wake and Orange counties will play students from the Special Olympics College programs at NC State and UNC.

Sunday, Nov. 24

1 p.m. Volleyball vs. No. 2 Pittsburgh (Reynolds Coliseum)

The Wolfpack has had an up-and-down season and will be looking to bounce back from a sweep at the hands of Georgia Tech. But with the top team in the ACC in Pitt (15-0 ACC), coming to town, the final home game of the season will be very difficult for the Pack.
