The NC State men’s and women’s golf teams will be competing this weekend, Oct. 11-13, at different tournaments.

The men’s team will be competing in its final tournament of the fall at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at Blackthorn Club at the Ridges in Jonesborough, Tennessee. This tournament is being hosted by East Tennessee State University.

The men’s team is coming off its first win of the season last weekend, as it won its annual Wolfpack Intercollegiate at Lonnie Poole Golf Club.

Senior Christian Salzer will look to keep his good play going for the Wolfpack after he finished second overall in the individual tournament at Lonnie Poole.

Senior Benjamin Shipp, freshman Max Steinlechner and graduate student Brett Mclamb all finished in the top 10 last week as well and will look to help secure another strong finish in Jonesborough for the Wolfpack.

Some of the schools NC State will be competing with include Tennessee, Louisville, Ole Miss, Coastal Carolina and Virginia Tech.

The women’s team, which was off last weekend, will compete in the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational at Finley Golf Club in Chapel Hill, hosted by UNC-Chapel Hill.

In its last tournament, which was in Colorado, NC State finished in ninth place out of 18 teams. Junior Monika Hartl was the highest finisher for the Wolfpack at tied for 29th.

Playing on its rival’s home course, NC State will want to have its best showing of the fall season.

Some of the other schools participating in the Invitational include Wake Forest, Duke, South Carolina, Arkansas and Ohio State.
