On New Year’s Eve, we finish our three-part series by counting down the top six moments for NC State sports in 2018. The final part of the series features national titles for swimming and wrestling, a stellar season for women’s basketball and two upset wins over local rivals for men’s basketball. Over the next three days, Technician’s sports editors will be counting down the top 18 moments for NC State sports in 2018. Part one, and moments 13-18 include a record-setting day for football, a top-10 win for men’s basketball, a pair of big wins for baseball and standout seasons for men’s golf and gymnastics.

NC State men’s basketball’s leadership is staying put for the foreseeable future. The NC State Board of Governors approved a six-year contract extension that will pay Keatts $2.7 million per season through the 2023-24 season on Friday.

NC State football wraps up its regular season slate this week with a home tilt against East Carolina at Carter-Finley Stadium, replacing the previously scheduled home game against West Virginia that was cancelled due to Hurricane Florence. Head coach Dave Doeren spoke to the media about the upcoming game Monday.
