The NC State women’s soccer team will be facing the only undefeated team left in the country on Saturday in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Championship as it faces BYU on its home field. The match is set to kick off at 8 p.m. on Saturday and will be in Provo, Utah at BYU’s home field.

A term not often heard in the postseason: thrive and advance. But that is exactly what the NC State women’s soccer team did as it sunk Navy 3-0 in the first round of the NCAA Championship.

The NC State women’s soccer team has gotten off to a slow start in ACC play, currently sitting in eighth place with five points through four games. While the results have not gone its way, the team has played well and proven that it can run with the best in what is an immensely difficult conference.

The NC State women’s soccer team has had a lackluster start to ACC play, taking just two points from its opening three games with a pair of 1-1 draws against Duke and Wake Forest, and a 1-0 loss to UNC-Chapel Hill.

The Wolfpack was thoroughly outmatched on the night, with the Tar Heels outshooting the visiting Pack 15-4. The four shots are tied for a season low for NC State with the other coming in a loss to Iowa. Despite the heavy amount of shots the Tar Heels took, only two found the target.
