NC State wrestling extended its dual win streak to 20 with a win 23-9 over Virginia. The Wolfpack won all but three bouts against the Cavaliers.

Recent history has not been kind to Virginia in this matchup. NC State has won six straight against it, including a 28-9 victory in 2020.

The No. 5 NC State wrestling team continued its dominance and opened ACC play with a 28-9 victory against Virginia. The Wolfpack (11-0, 1-0 ACC) cruised by the Cavaliers (7-3, 0-1 ACC) with a couple of MMA legends, former two-division UFC Champion Daniel Cormier and former Bellator welterweight champion Ben Askren, in attendance. Having the two — both college wrestling legends — in Reynolds Coliseum was huge for NC State.
