Researchers release summer hurricane predictions
Experts suggest 13 to 15 named storms, six to eight hurricanes
With the Atlantic hurricane season beginning on June 1, the N.C. State department of marine, earth and atmospheric sciences released its annual prediction on the number and intensity of hurricane activity within the Atlantic basin last week. The prediction states that the Atlantic basin will see between 13 to 15 named storms, which are tropical storm force or higher, with six to eight of those becoming hurricanes, according to Elinor Keith, a graduate research assistant.

An attempted robbery outside Doak Field Wednesday evening became the third crime of its kind on campus in the past week and a half and the second within a week at or near the baseball stadium. University to receive almost a quarter million for conservation measures

Court of Appeals upholds money for sexual harassment victims
The North Carolina Court of Appeals upheld a decision to give two former students $150,000 each after they were sexually harassed by a former professor, according to the North Carolina Court of Appeals report on the case released Tuesday.
