The student's State of the Union

OUR VIEW: In lieu of the president's State of the Union speech, here we present some of the major issues affecting the nation, as seen from the perspective of college students

George W. Bush took the stage last night for his last State of the Union address as the United States president. The speech represented an opportunity for Bush to provide some final insights about the country's development during his administration and to offer some advice to the presidential candidates in the upcoming election.

Resisting the 'Independent Spoiler'

In discussions about the upcoming election I have noticed a trend among my more politically-informed friends. They assert that they would vote for an independent candidate rather than choosing between the mainstay political parties. They have encouraged me to do the same, but I am skeptical.

Find your niche

One of my favorite things about college is how there is something for everyone. Whether your idea of a good time is swing dancing or hunting, there is a place to do it and a group of fun people with similar interests. I love the freedom to give things a try and the excitement that comes from trying something new.

Edwards is no different from the others I'm writing this in response to the article entitled Edwards the kingmaker which attempted to disparage Edwards by pointing to his economic activity over the last few years. The following numbers all come from a recent article in Money magazine entitled "Millionaires-in-Chief.
