This year, North Carolina's claim to fame -- at least, in terms of the mtvU's battle of unsigned college bands -- lies in the hands of Inflowential, a Raleigh-based hip-hop band with influences such as The Roots and Little Brother.
Inflow is the only North Carolina-based band in the 25 nominees with a chance to perform at one of Campus Invasion '08 Music Festivals, according to its Web site.
And the kicker -- the band, whose members are either alumni or currently enrolled students, is "repping N.C. State University," Inflow's Alexander Thompson, better known as Charlie Smarts, said.
However, the band needs your help. MtvU decides who wins by how many votes each band gets. As the contest narrows the bands down from 25 to one, every vote adds new weight to the final decision.
So check out their EP on iTunes. Vote online and help Inflow rep NCSU.
